St Pats and Albury Hotspurs were locked at 1-all at Alexandra Park on Sunday in a game dominated by defence.
After a scoreless first half, Carlos Hassan put the hosts in front soon after the break.
Former Myrtleford striker Patrick Sibomana found the reply for Hotspurs 10 minutes later.

Albury Hotspurs coach James Eggleston said it was a battle throughout.
"Credit to St Pats, they played a brave formation that cancelled us out a bit," he said.
"The two goalkeepers (St Pats' Joshua Green and Hotspurs' Zachery Bonetti) were best on ground."
St Pats will look to post its first win of the 2021 season at home to Wodonga Diamonds in round two next weekend, while Albury Hotspurs have the bye.
