Cresswell was found guilty of striking Lavington's Connor Clayton in the first quarter of the Hawks' round one reserve grade match at Lavington Sports Ground on Sunday.
He was handed a one-match ban with a further week suspended until the end of 2021.

Cresswell pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Field umpire Daniel Fitzpatrick made the report and considered the charge serious enough to be sent straight to the tribunal.
The Hawks host Albury on Saturday.
