The Pigeons have kicked only 18 majors in three winless games.
Representative ruckman or forward Symes played reserves last week after coach Mark Whiley initially declared he would miss an extended period due to farming commitments.
"We started cropping on Tuesday, I could fit it (a game) in, but I'm not quite fit enough for seniors at the moment, I haven't played for that long, I thought I'd have a game in the 2's," Symes revealed.
It was the 29-year-old's first game since he suffered a knee injury in May, 2019.
The Pigeons are away to Wodonga Raiders today.
Raiders have kicked only nine goals in their two losses, albeit against certain finalists Wangaratta and Lavington.
