Cameron, 30, requires a third knee reconstruction after injuring his knee in the season opener.
A shattered Cameron couldn't believe his wretched luck when he heard the dreaded pop sound in his knee.
It was his first match back after undergoing a second knee reconstruction.
"I changed direction and was running into an open goal and I heard crack in my knee," Cameron said.
"I thought it was all in my head to be honest.
"I thought there's no way I've done my knee again, push through the pain."
IN OTHER NEWS
Cameron's worst fears were confirmed after scans last week.
"I'm shattered to be honest," he said.
"You do all the rehab to get your body right and be able to play again.
"Then for it to happen again that easily is pretty frustrating.
"But deep down I'm not surprised it happened again.
"The body was feeling pretty good and I did 90 per cent of the pre-season and played in one practice match."
Cameron will have an arthroscope this week and has ruled out playing football again.
"I'm done," he said.
"The surgeon, GP and physio all said I would be stupid to ever try and play again."
