The 25-year-old will play at home for Northern Bullants against Footscray.
"I can't wait for Saturday, it will be really exciting," he suggested.
Stone moved to Melbourne as a teenager, but moved home after just five months as he struggled to adapt to city life.
He was then aligned to Coburg in 2019, but didn't didn't play a senior game, while last year at Box Hill was a write-off, due to COVID.
Stone has played three games for his junior club before earning the promotion.
"I'll play half-forward, small forward role which is pretty similar when I play at Rovers, so I know that role pretty well," he explained.
Stone will be sorely missed by the Hawks on Saturday as they host Yarrawonga, which is coming off its best performance, albeit a thrilling 10-point loss to top three contenders Myrtleford.
Like so many, Stone loves playing for his 'second' club, but VFL is the goal.
