Jade Mann has made an instant impact in her first season at the club, but it certainly took some convincing to get her across from Norths.
"Kate Bardy picked me to play in her hockey eights side about eight years ago and she's been asking me to come to Falcons every year since," Mann said.
"I finally decided to make the move and I've loved it."
Mann had been a regular in the Albury-Wodonga Spitfires women's team and also spent time with Tuggeranong in the Canberra-based Capital League, before a shock diagnosis put that on hold.
"I was playing with Tuggeranong up in Canberra, but I had a diagnosis of endometriosis and I was struggling to play at the higher level because I was in a lot of pain," Mann said.
"It killed me to have to cut back, but I've had my second surgery and I'm feeling a lot better than after the first.

"If I'm physically able to play at the higher level again, I will, but unfortunately there's no cure for endometriosis, so I'll do what I can.
"I'm really loving my time at Falcons. They're such a positive club, the girls are amazing and our coach Rod (White) has a really good hockey brain."
Falcons take on ladder leaders Wodonga at Albury Hockey Centre tomorrow, with Magpies to face Norths.
The same clubs meet in the men's, with CR United to clash with Wombats.
Meanwhile, the Albury-Wodonga Spitfires will aim to snap a five-game losing streak when they travel to face Old Canberrans today.
The Spitfires were narrowly beaten by St Patrick's in a home double-header last weekend.
