Falcons moved into top spot on the Hockey Albury-Wodonga division one women's ladder with a 2-0 win against the undefeated Wodonga at Albury Hockey Centre on Sunday.
The reigning premiers dominated from the first whistle and scored both goals in the first quarter as Kate Bardy netted a brace.
Magpies split the points in a 1-1 draw with Norths.
Lily Robertson scored in the first quarter for Magpies, but Norths equalised in the last 10 minutes.
In division one men's matches, Norths suffered its first loss with a shock 4-1 defeat to Magpies.

In a tough physical matchup, the defending champions were unable to stop the scoring power of the Pies, who were driven by Noah Erdeljac, Josh Salecich and Lincoln Morrison.
CR United registered a 2-1 salute over Wombats.
Tim Smith put United ahead early and Wombats levelled with an impressive goal from Aidan McMillan, but the former escaped with victory thanks to a late effort from Ryan Heagney.
Wodonga scored a 1-0 win against Falcons thanks to a goal from Ethan Albon.
