Brendan Liddell marginally claimed all three sets and combined with Ben Tari in the decider to overcome Richard Girvan and Matthew Paull by one game.
Adib Golshan helped St Pat's Hilfiger (4-40) pip Thurgoona Flamingos (2-32).
In section two men, despite dropping four sets to two, Wodonga Bushrangers prevailed on games, 37-35, against Wodonga Raiders.
Cameron Meagher starred throughout the day.
East Albury won all six sets against Albury Gold, as did Forrest Hill Galah's over Thurgoona Sharks.
Lavington (4-45) took down Albury Blue (2-31), despite two tight sets.
In section three men, Forrest Hill Blue started three sets up against Thurgoona Wolves, but dropped the last three to fall short by six games.
Glenly Gold were dominant winners against St Patrick's White, while Wodonga Knights (4-42) edged out clubmates Wodonga Eagles (2-34), with Bayden Girvan winning all his sets.
Thurgoona Bears were too strong for Albury Swans, winning six sets to love to move to the top of the ladder.
The first draw of the winter pennant season came in section 4/5 as Wodonga Bears and Thurgoona Panthers finished locked at three sets and 37 games apiece.

Albury Eagles fell short by two sets and 10 games against St Patrick's Red.
St Patrick's Gold were defeated by Forrest Hills Swans.
Green's Jake Meagher, Darsh Shah and Nicholas Ratcliffe were the winning St Patrick's team for the day against St Patrick's Aqua.
Section one ladies saw Wodonga Larrikans continue its supremacy against Lavington Red.
Walla Walla (4-46) saw off Lavington Purple (2-31) as both teams boast a 1-1 record.
Thurgoona Jade (4-41) won two first set thrillers, 8-7, against Glenly (2-41) and managed a very close win.
Section two ladies saw Wodonga Aces and Diamonds overcomee St Patrick's Blue and Yellow, respectively.
When Aces met Blue, scores were locked at three sets all, but the former snuck through on games, 33-32.
Abbey Quinlan won all three sets for Diamonds, who won came out on top with four sets and 41 games to two sets and 33 games.
Meanwhile, this week's round of Tuesday ladies pennant was washed out.
Section one leader Bulle will play Sands at Albury Grasscourts next week, while Wurtz takes on Bourke.
Smith clashes with Aylmore in section two, with Lee to face Scammell. Cannon and Dihood face off in section three, with Jones to meet Huckstepp,
