Speculation has been rife over the past week in the Ovens and Murray Football League that the former Western Bulldogs' rookie had joined Nagambie in the Kyabram District Football League.
Daniels confirmed he trained with Nagambie on Thursday night, but says work commitments was the reason.
The 30-year-old has just started a new job and is finding it difficult to make the 200km round trip to Wangaratta for training.
"I'm speaking with 'Crezza' (co-coach Daryn Cresswell) and (football operations manager) Barry (Sullivan) and we're working through the situation," Daniels revealed.
"I haven't cut ties with Wangaratta Rovers and I haven't signed with Nagambie."
The family of Daniels' partner is heavily linked with Nagambie.
