Jude Perl will bring her show I have a face to The Cube Wodonga on June 5, pending COVID-19 rules.
In line with the seven-day lockdown, Wodonga Council announced The Cube was among facilities closing to the public.
The seven-day lockdown is due to end at midnight next Thursday.
The Winner of Best Cabaret at Melbourne Fringe Festival 2018 told The Border Mail the show itself didn't fit into genres.
"I didn't want to worry about whether it was comedy, I just wanted to make a show where I talked about what I wanted to," she said.
"The main thing I wanted to talk about was around depression, anxiety and labels around identity.
"Growth seems to stagnate when you start telling yourself what kind of person you are."
Perl wished gender wasn't part of the conversation about identity.
"I want gender to not be a relevant part of my identity," she said.
"Labels can be useful, but they can also be really limiting - that's the big message of the show."
In her fifth solo show, Perl gives insight into her personal and relatable mental health struggles of being an adult.
Perl said she "didn't have a hot take" on COVID-19, which limited her work last year, so audiences could expect little related material.
"I did the first performance at the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2018, followed by the Comedy Festival," she said.
"I did some touring ... and a few one-off performances around Victoria.
"So it's great now to take it to the places I was going to in 2020.
"I would be happy to go see a show and just not hear about it."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Perl said it would be a "dynamic" performance.
"The show is kind of a mixture of original songs and stand up, and sketches that I do," she said.
"There's a bit of talking to audience, a bit of song. Everything you could want."
I have a face is scheduled to show at The Cube on Saturday, June 5 at 7.30pm.
