The Steamers were scheduled to play two men's games and one women's game away to Wagga City in Southern Inland Rugby Union (SIRU).
But the seven-day lockdown in Victoria means around 50 percent of Steamers players will be unavailable for selection against the league's top side.
Club president Mick Raynes met with the coaching staff on Thursday night and decided to request a postponement.
"As of this afternoon, Victorians can't train, won't be able to play this weekend and won't be able to leave the bubble in particular," Raynes said.
"That's anyone in the Army, anyone who lives in Wodonga and it affects close to half of our players.
"We could potentially get one men's team together but we wouldn't have a functioning front row.
"It would be dangerous if we tried to go down that path.
"We're not in a position to field the three teams, particularly with such a big influx of Army people.
"We've got 17 and 18-year-olds who can only play a particular position. We can't move them out and put them into vulnerable areas.

"The coaches taking the call to try to postpone this week is probably the most reasonable action we can take.
SIRU issued a statement in response.
"Unfortunately due to the impending lockdown in Victoria the scheduled matches between Wagga City and Albury Wodonga RUFC will not occur this weekend," it read.
"SIRU will work closely with both clubs to arrange for these matches to occur at a later date with hopes that Albury Wodonga RUFC will be back in round nine to take on Leeton (women's) and Griffith (first grade)."
Those matches are scheduled for June 5.
