Parnell was taken with pick four by Adelaide, while Turner was nabbed by competition leaders Melbourne at pick 24 - the final selection of the draft.
An impressive start to the season in the back half for the Murray Bushrangers and Albury and a standout performance in the Young Guns Game last month propelled Parnell into draft contention.
"It's pretty surreal and exciting. It hasn't really sunk in yet, but I'm sure it will," Parnell said.
"I knew there was a little bit of interest there, so when they were taking their pick I was a little bit nervous, but it was exciting when they did pick me.
"It's what I've wanted to do since I was a kid, so to finally get the opportunity is pretty exciting.
"They've only seen me play five or six times this year, so I've found some form at the right time and it's paid off."

Parnell and Turner played together for Albury in the Ovens and Murray season opener against Yarrawonga.
"I've been mates with Daniel since we were six or seven years old, so to both go in the same draft, I couldn't be happier," Parnell added.
Adelaide recruiting manager Hamish Ogilvie said the Crows decided they would select Parnell two weeks out from the draft if he managed to get through to pick four.
"Our philosophy was to take the most talented player at our pick. It was more about where we're going and where Paddy might be in the future, so we didn't really go for needs," Ogilvie said.
"It's nice that he's got some real speed and can play at both ends and on the wing.
"We love his qualities, he's a great lad and he comes from a terrific family.
"His kicking and his decision-making was a real highlight."
Former Howlong and North Wangaratta player Ashley Johnson was taken by Collingwood with pick three.
