A three-month-old baby girl suffered a broken arm after her Lavington father twice lifted her up by her right elbow when she cried, a court has heard.

This happened once when given the job of feeding her and once when his partner was asleep.
The girl was taken to Albury hospital after the second incident, where a bone scan revealed a spiral fracture of her right humerus, or upper arm, bone.

An examination also uncovered bruising around her elbow, Albury Local Court was told.
The unemployed man, who cannot be identified, has pleaded guilty to a single charge of recklessly cause grievous bodily harm.
He remains in custody, bail refused.
Police told magistrate Richard Funston that this all took place at the family's unit in Bevan Street.
The baby's bassinet was set-up in the lounge, next to a mattress on the floor used by the man, now 28, and his partner.
They were attending to her on March 2 when they agreed he would feed her, she having done the previous feed.
The baby then used her tongue to push the bottle teat from her mouth, frustrating her father.
He put her down on the mattress and paced the room, taking deep breaths.
The baby became more upset so he reached down with one hand and grabbed hold of her elbow, heaving her on to his chest, causing her to "cry worse in pain".
After failing to calm her down, "he threw her in the direction of (the baby's mother), who caught her".
The following day, the mother fed the child after the pair returned home in the afternoon.
She then put her in the bassinet and began smoking cannabis with the girl's father.
He later woke to the baby crying and, when he couldn't get her to settle, put her on the mattress on her back between his partner and the bassinet.
Again "frustrated" by his daughter's continual crying, he reached over his partner - who was asleep - and grabbed the baby by the elbow.
He lifted her up off her back, over his partner and on to his chest, later surmising he must have "twisted" the girl, who began to cry hysterically.
As with the previous incident, she immediately began to bruise.
Mr Funston ordered the preparation of a sentence assessment report.
The man will be sentenced on July 27.
