The Hoppers narrowly held the lead at each break before claiming the game 55-48.
Goal attack Tess Grimmond was the best on court for the Hoppers at Butson Park, finishing with 16 goals.
Fellow shooter and cousin Hannah Dwyer landed 39 goals, while former Ovens and Murray League players Anna Avery and Rebekah Ohlin were also strong in the midcourt and defensive end for the visitors.
"There wasn't a lot of second chances in the defensive ring with Jess (Garland) and Kelsey (Herzina) in there shooting, but when we could get that second look in, Bek was definitely the one that got it for us," Hoppers coach Erika O'Connell said.
"It was a game that was a long time coming with all of the lockdowns.
"I was really proud of how the girls started the game and had control.

Samara Leslie and Georgia Campbell were named the best for the Roos, with Kelsey Herzina shooting 28 goals.
Jess Garland also contributed 20 to Yackandandah's tally.
In other Tallangatta and District netball clashes from the weekend, Kiewa-Sandy Creek was too strong for Dederang Mt Beauty, with Haylee Penny racking up 63 goals for the Hawks.
Beechworth, Barnawartha, Mitta and Thurgoona were also winners.
