The Liberal MP was this week in Parliament House with NSW Agriculture Minister Adam Marshall who was diagnosed with coronavirus after eating at a restaurant in the Sydney suburb of Paddington deemed a COVID-19 exposure site.
Mr Marshall revealed his status on Thursday morning while Mr Clancy was flying to Albury following advice to return home amid Sydney's coronavirus outbreak.
Upon landing, Mr Clancy went to have a COVID test at the Lavington Hall and then proceeded to drive to his home at Bowna where he has been isolating, pending the result of his swab.
Mr Clancy been in the Legislative Assembly and a Coalition party meeting with Mr Marshall on Tuesday when the NSW budget was unveiled.
Two staffers for Mr Clancy, Chris Stern and Peter Cerexhe, were also in Parliament House this week and are quarantining after returning to the Border.

Member for Wagga Joe McGirr flew back to the Riverina on Wednesday night and is isolating pending further advice.
He had a test earlier that day and it was negative.
Member for Murray Helen Dalton had a call from NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard on Thursday afternoon to say her she was not infected after a test in the morning.
She planned to drive a hire car home rather than fly.
Wagga Upper House MP Wes Fang was still in Sydney on Thursday afternoon awaiting the outcome of his test.
He said he would have been at the dinner with his Nationals colleague Mr Marshall in Paddington on Tuesday night if not for volunteering to remain in the Legislative Council on duty.
"It was completetly fortuitous I wasn't there," Mr Fang said.
Meanwhile, Murrumbidgee Local Health is having a COVID vaccine hub at Deniliquin from July 12 to 16.
Around 1800 Pfizer doses will be set with patients urged to register online at health.gov.au/resources/apps-and-tools/covid-19-vaccine-eligibility-checker to ensure no waste.
