The class of former NRL playmaker Mitch Cornish and his brother Nick proved too much for Albury Thunder yesterday.

Mitch Cornish played 20 NRL games for Canberra and the Sydney Roosters and his creativity was difficult to counter in Young's 40-8 win at home.
"Their halves, the Cornish boys, they were very, very good, they caused us more grief than the others, we handled their bigger players well," Thunder official Warren Jenkinson offered.
Young is one of the grand final contenders, while the Thunder's rebuilding, so it was always going to be a tough test, which includes the three-hour road trip.
The visitors weren't helped when inspirational forward leader Jon Huggett couldn't resume for the second half, while centre Ty Fletcher was also injured.

Fullback James Olds was strong under the high ball and the Cherrypickers peppered him too and produced some heavy defence when he returned the ball.
