Victoria's COVID response commander Jeroen Weimar said 80,000 first- and second-dose Pfizer jabs would be delivered in state clinics this week, compared to 120,000 last week.
"We're all on the same page ... (for) Victorian GPs, the primary care networks and state clinics, there's a general sense of frustration that there's not more vaccines available to both the GPs and the state clinics," he said.
"It's a really positive step to have Victorian GPs start to issue Pfizer doses now - it starts to get them on that Pfizer trajectory, given that's going to be the longer-term platform for all Australians.
"The GPs would like more vaccine, we'd like more vaccine ... we've got some important meetings this week with our colleagues in the Commonwealth and we're working really well with them to try and make the best of the situation that we're all in."
While a pause is still in place for first-dose appointments through the AWH state vaccination hub, Mr Weimar said there were first-dose appointments available in Victoria.
"Most of our first doses are all fully booked out ... we will in the coming weeks be releasing more longer-term appointments into the back end of July and into August," he said.
"There's insatiable demand out there for vaccination amongst Victorians; that's a really positive sign."
Both AWH Wodonga Hub and NHW Wangaratta Hub have appointments available for second dose Pfizer and first and second AstraZeneca vaccines.
If you present at the Wodonga clinic or NHW Wangaratta as a walk-in, you will not be able to receive your first dose Pfizer.
All current Pfizer bookings will be honoured.
There are several appointments available each day this week for Pfizer second dose, so anyone due should come forward.
IN OTHER NEWS:
All appointments can be made by walking into the clinics, phoning 1800 675 398 or on the online portal.
Those under 60 who have received one dose of AstraZeneca without any serious reaction will receive their second dose of that same vaccine.
Only those in the local Border bubble zone can be vaccinated at the Wodonga and Wangaratta clinic - proof of address is required.
