Victoria Police are manning checkpoints and checking for permits and ID along the NSW-Victorian border on the Lincoln Causeway.
Yesterday, the Victoria government declared all of NSW and the ACT would be classed as a red zone under the state's traffic light system, effectively closing the border.
It is the third time the border between NSW and Victoria has closed in just over a year.
112 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in NSW in the past 24 hours.

NSW border bubble residents can continue to cross into Victoria without a permit, but must be able to show proof of address.
They have been asked to remain within the bubble in Victoria and not travel further into the state.
