His experience, magistrate Richard Funston told the 18-year-old, should serve as a warning to his friends.
"Well you've just let yourself down, your parents down, your football club and the community," he said to Brayden John McMenamin.

"For a young man, I can only put it down to that you were so drunk that you didn't think."
McMenamin, defence lawyer Mark Cronin has told Albury Local Court, had driven to a mate's place on May 21 about 6.30pm.
McMenamin had some drinks and then moved on to a party, but his intention all along was to stay at his friend's home and not get behind the wheel of his Toyota Camry.
"He just can't understand why he drove," he said.
Mr Funston told McMenamin that, as a young man, "I can only put that down to you were so drunk that you didn't think".
"I'll tell you what, if you drive again I will jail you. You have to learn an enormous lesson in this and tell all your mates as well."
McMenamin, who pleaded guilty to driving with a high-range prescribed concentration of alcohol, was stopped for a random breath test as he headed west on Union Road, Lavington, on May 22 at 12.41am.
He got out of his car and walked towards police, offering his keys in his outstretched hand.
"I'm drunk, you got me, I'm drunk," he said.
Police said McMenamin was "well-affected" by alcohol, as he was stumbling as well as slurring his words.
The P2 licence holder gave a positive breath test then, after his arrest, provided a blood alcohol reading of 0.169.
On top of the licence disqualification, McMenamin was fined $800.
