Councillors have supported a day in lieu for fully vaccinated council staff.
Moira Shire CEO Clare Keenan said it was in the best interests of the community for everyone to be vaccinated.
"Staff are taking it up as much as they can it seems, and we really wanted to thank them for doing this," she said.
"Most of our staff interact with the community on some level, face to face...so having them on the front line and having them vaccinated is really great for our community.
"It does affect our business continuity if we have a large number of staff vaccinated as well."
Ms Keenan said she believed that vaccination around the shire had been taken up well so far, but she encouraged more residents to book their shot.
"I think it's going really well," she said.
"I've spoken to a couple of shop owners or just people here and there and they've phoned and it's taking three weeks or so to get an appointment.
"So there's other people obviously out there who are really wanting it, so that's why news of more vaccines out there is so great."
NCN Health secured 260 more doses of Pfizer this week and are accepting bookings for people to get their first jab.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Moira Mayor Libro Mustica said he had received his vaccination.
"It would be great if we could be the shire with the greatest number of people immunised," he said.
Eligible residents can book their COVID-19 vaccine at the Cobram site located on 1 O'Dwyer Street. Residents can book by calling (03) 5871 0950.
Ms Keenan said council was hopeful the $1 promotional weekend in the Shire would go ahead.
"The regions might come out of the lockdown a little earlier, so were still hoping it goes ahead," she said.
"If it does I think people will be really happy and there'll be huge uptake."
