A driver has lost his licence a decade after speeding home to Sydney from Melbourne.
Conal Moloney was caught driving at 164km/h on the Hume Freeway in 2011 with four mates in his car.
Wodonga magistrate Ian Watkins on Tuesday said he was lucky he wasn't "wrapped around a redgum somewhere along the road".
The court heard a summons had never been served on him, which could explain the delay in the case.
The vehicle he was driving was impounded.

Moloney was banned from driving for a year and fined $850.
He would ordinarily have to undertake a driving education course, but Mr Watkins noted home much time had elapsed without any further offending.
