While league officials are yet to make a decision on the implications of a seven-day extension to Victoria's lockdown, announced by the state government on Tuesday, there's at least one less weekend to get the competition wrapped up on schedule.
The league presented a range of scenarios to clubs last Friday on how the rest of the season could be played out, but some hinged on returning this Saturday, July 24, which is now off the table.
Scenario one was to forfeit last weekend's round 12 matches and award points based on results from rounds three and seven when Tumbarumba defeated Corryong and Cudgewa accounted for Federal.
ALSO IN SPORT:
The second option was to scrap the most recent results from round 11 and play the remaining fixtures from the second round of matches (round 8), which would mean all clubs will have played each other twice, and then start finals.
If this is adopted, round eight fixtures between Bullioh and Tumbarumba, to decide who finishes second, and Corryong and Federal, to determine fourth position and the remaining finals spot, would be played at the earliest on July 31, with finals to commence on August 7.
The final option included pushing the season back another week, but it would mean the grand final would be played on same day as the Tallangatta league's decider.
