
A train service has been delayed as emergency services rush to the scene of a gas leak in the the Riverina.
NSW Trains posted online an update saying the 8.30am XPT service from Melbourne to Sydney had been delayed at Junee as a result of the leak.
Dean Campbell, duty commander for Southern Highlands Fire and Rescue, said they were called to a gas depot in Cootamundra at 1pm.

"We have a 300kg gas bottle and the weld around the top of the bottle has cracked and is leaking," he said.
"We have to do a controlled release as we can't stop it, so we have a big hose dispersing it.
"It's right beside the train line so we have had to stop the XPT, but we have about 15 percent of the contents left so shouldn't be too much longer."
Police, paramedics and the Rural Fire Service are all on standby as a safety precaution.
