COVID-19 restrictions led to the postponement of the event in May and again in July, before it was announced yesterday it would now be held on October 2 and 3.

ALSO IN SPORT:
"Coming back with Winton is great for the area. The weather should be pretty nice down there at the start of October," he said.
"It's in the school holidays and hopefully people will be able to go camping.
"It's great for Winton and all these regional communities that feed into that area."
Winton precedes the championship's premier event, the Bathurst 1000, which has been pushed back a month and will run from November 4 to 7.
