The essential worker, who is asymptomatic, returned an inconclusive result during regular screening tests for COVID-19.
The person is isolating in accommodation in Wagga, along with their close contacts, while further testing is completed.
All close contacts have been identified, and the MLHD has said there are no other venues of concern at this stage.
"All persons in isolation accommodation are being supported by Murrumbidgee Local Health District and the Local Emergency Management Committee to ensure their needs are met," a statement said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"The person and their contacts have worked in the Grong Grong, Coolamon and Narrandera area.
"People in the Grong Grong, Coolamon and Narrandera areas, or who have travelled to these areas in the past week, are asked to monitor for symptoms and get tested as soon as symptoms occur, and isolate until a negative result is received."
The MLHD also revealed that since sewage testing at Temora earlier this week detected fragments of the virus that causes COVID-19, no other locations in MLHD have had positive sewage samples this week.
Sewage testing has been carried out this week in Albury, Cootamundra, Corowa, Deniliquin, Griffith, Gundagai, Junee, Leeton, Moama, Mulwala, Narrandera, Tumut, Wagga, West Wyalong and Young.
"The detection in Temora is a concern as there are no known cases in this area," the statement said.
"Everyone in Temora, or who has recently travelled to Temora, is urged to monitor for the onset of symptoms, and if they appear, to immediately be tested and isolate until a negative result is received."
Testing will be available at:
- Temora Hospital tomorrow from 10am to 12pm.
