Two Riverina schools are among 81 across the country who have had a new bench made from 98% recycled plastic put in to recognise their sustainability efforts.

Walla Walla Public School and Trinity Anglican College received the 'buddy benches' through the Sustainability4Schools competition.
Walla Public School was recognised for its REDcycle-inspired bins in each classroom, while Trinity was rewarded for its efforts to re-establish environmental systems this year.
Walla Public School Helen Duncan the school was delighted to receive the bench, so students could see the end result of recycling.
"The bench will help students see how these soft plastics they recycle can be turned into useful products," she said.
"We've got REDcycle inspired bins at our school to encourage students to recycle chip packets and the like.
"In addition to reducing waste, parents from our school community are donating trees for our students to plant and each student will be planting their very own tree and will be responsible for helping to care for it.
"We also have excursions to local farms to learn about sustainable farming and have recently installed new energy efficient heating and cooling systems."

Trinity Anglican College Principal Justin Beckett said that the school was thrilled to be recognised.
"In 2021 we embarked on a journey to re-establish our environmental focus and systems, which unfortunately had ceased to function during the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
"Our Year 3 students manage our mixed recycling with a weekly collection to all classrooms as well as the canteen, staff room and photocopy rooms and our Year 4 students manage our cardboard, paper and soft plastics recycling.
"Our Enviro Leaders are currently working towards starting weekly 'Nude Food' days in an effort to further decrease the amount of waste generated by the college and also to encourage families to think about their purchasing decisions."
