Chiltern triplets Liam, Corey and Josh Sorensen on life as Swans

But when two out of three are identical, that's when things can get a bit complicated.

Corey and Josh are used to people getting them mistaken on the footy field, while Liam has the last laugh.

"Even if I'm playing in the twos I still get called Corey," Josh said.

"It's a lot easier for me, everyone knows who I am," Liam said.

Both Josh and Liam played in Chiltern's reserves side this year, while Corey took to the field in seniors for the Swans.

While Josh and Corey admit they enjoy a bit of friendly competition, Liam runs his own race.

"I let those two do their thing and I do my thing," he said.

"I usually get into Josh with a bit of banter, but he doesn't really like it though," Corey said.

The trio grew up in Chiltern together alongside their older brother Kurt, with their family taking on numerous roles at the club.

While their dad Neville is the club's vice-president, their mum Jodie manages the canteen.

They admit it's been a challenging Tallangatta and District League season, with the Swans making the top five for both the seniors and reserves.

"That's what sucks the most, we had a real chance," Corey said.

"It was hard to stay motivated when you got back into it and then would be shut down again."

The 20-year-olds are all currently completing apprenticeships.

They should have all bases covered, with Josh a carpenter, Corey an electrician and Liam a refrigeration mechanic.

While they all still live together, looking back on their childhood, they were never alone.

"You always had someone to do things with," Josh said.

"I reckon it's pretty cool," Liam said.

They also have the same friends, however, Corey was often placed in different classes to his brothers during their school days.

"I probably enjoyed it more because I could get away from them," he laughed.

"I'd spend all day with them at home."

Birthdays are also always shared each time they roll around.

"It's pretty fun, but you sort of get a third of a present," Corey said.

After a testing year, the Sorensens hope to be back out in Swans colours next season.

"After having two years without any results, it makes you really want a result," Corey said.

"We'll have another crack at it."

They all agree Chiltern is exactly where they're meant to be.

"I don't think we'll go anywhere else," Josh said.
