RSL welcomes new street name emerging at Albury's war memorial on Monument Hill

This week a board was erected for Remembrance Close which replaces the section of Roper Street from Memorial Drive.

The Albury RSL sub-branch had gained approval from the Geographical Names Board of NSW after arguing it was a more apt title for the loop around the monument.

Sub-branch president Graham Docksey said the veterans' community was very happy at the quick installation of the sign, following the board's appeals process.

Roper Street will remain from the memorial to Pemberton Street.
