ANDY Walker will work for the last time on Friday at 2AY, the station where his radio career began in the mid-1970s.
The newsreader is retiring after various stints at the broadcaster which began when he moved to the area and played football for North Albury.

Walker said having a new lifestyle was key to his move.
"It was really just a case of I'm 65 years old, I'm getting up at 3am in the morning, putting in a solid eight to ten hours a day and I thought 'why don't I leave this to a more younger person'," he said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"It's time to go out and enjoy myself."
Walker has been the general manager and a breakfast and weekend program host at 2AY in addition to newsreading on that station and Wangaratta's 3NE recently.
He enjoyed taking his dog Harriet, a golden retriever, into the studios with him and she regularly got on-air mentions.
