Michael Anthony Hassarati's matters were set to go before Albury Local Court magistrate Miranda Moody on September 6.
Issues related to COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns meant this was further adjourned to September 20.
IN OTHER NEWS:
But again, the case involving the 45-year-old man from the outer-western suburb of Greystanes could not go ahead before magistrate Richard Funston.
Hassarati had been a boarder in the victim's home, having moved out about eight weeks before committing the crime.
He previously pleaded guilty to a single charge of break and enter dwelling and steal.
At a mention of the matter in late July, Mr Funston commented on the serious nature of the charge but indicated he might afford some leniency by ordering a sentence assessment report.
Magistrates across NSW recently worked under the direction to not finalise matters where a full-time spell in custody was likely, given lockdowns in some jails due to COVID-19 outbreaks.
Police said Hassarati took a taxi on May 9 from his new temporary home at a Lavington motel to the woman's Roper Street home.
On his arrival, Hassarati pestered a neighbour of the woman to get him an alcoholic drink.
The neighbour felt intimidated by Hassarati's behaviour, as he was drunk and possibly volatile, so he poured him a drink.
He then went inside his home and watched Hassarati over his CCTV security system.
Hassarate walked away, but soon returned to get another drink.
Soon after he broke into the woman's home.
