The museum is aiming to progressively digitise all of its collections, but decided to prioritise the roughly 80 year old cookbook to give people at home an activity to do during the pandemic.
Museum coordinator Emma Williams said the recipes were contributed by members of 'The Harmony in the Home' Club.
"They refer to the recipes as 'very excellent recipes', which is very sweet," she said.
"We thought if people were at home a bit more they might like to try a few of these cute recipes.
"We're really hoping some other people will try some of these recipes and tag Albury City social media in them if they do."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Ms Williams said there were also some unusual recipes by todays standards, such as the Rabbit Mould with Orange Salad recipe.
"The chocolate potato cake has really taken us all in," she said.
"Strange is probably not the right word as it's just a different time, but all of us here in the office keep coming back to the chocolate potato cake.
"It's a fairly thick book, there's meat recipes and savory recipes and some of them are things you might expect."
The cookbook also has advertisements from 1940 Albury shops and poetry to boost wartime spirits.
Ms Williams said the museum had also provide a modern translation of vintage cooking terms and measurements on its website.
