A charity that delivered food to families in isolation in Shepparton has donated nearly 1000 kilograms of food to Carevan.
BAPS Charities has groups across Australia and 15 local members in Albury connected with Carevan about their ability to donate goods.
Member Yash Batel said the group, driven by Hindu ideals of helping others, wanted to do more for Border people.
"We always like to help people ... in the pandemic, we have almost donated 30,000 kilograms of groceries, and 17,000 hot meals," he said.
"We didn't know how to do that here, so that's why we donated to Carevan.
"We are local, but the groceries have come Shepparton and everywhere."
Carevan director Jaqui Partington said the goods were even more beneficial to their meals program when cooking programs weren't occurring due to COVID rules.
"We are very grateful the BAPS community has got together and donated all this food to support the work of caravan," she said.
"Anyone in our community that needs help can reach out to us, and it's a vast range of people.
"There's homeless people, there's those that are just living hand-to-mouth existence every day, there's transient people in our community and also those that are between jobs or displaced because of the unaffordable cost of housing at the moment.
