Wodonga Tennis Centre's FightMND 27 challenge was 27 hours of non-stop action.
The average life expectancy of someone diagnosed with MND is 27 months.
"Tennis Victoria is in partnership with FightMND, but we also lost ex-member and committee member Allison Baldwin to MND some years ago," club president Craig Farrar said.
Play started at 9am on Saturday and finished at midday on Sunday, attracting more than 70 players.
Some played for as long as four hours, while most booked out an hour block.
A group called 'The Golden Oldies', comprising 13 players, including Farrar's parents Ken and Louise, along with Doug and Kaye Barker, hit the courts with the group ranging from 70 to 92.
Wodonga hoped to raise $5000 and by early Sunday, it had hit $3500, although there's still time to donate to the cause.
"Everyone I've spoken to or who's been here have said, 'are we doing this again next year'?," Farrar revealed.
