Erin Fisher attended Albury's Zed Bar in the lead up to her music exam, and the venue was later listed as an exposure site.

She was advised that she had to get tested and isolate before receiving a negative result.

Her mother, Tamara, said a postponement was unable to be negotiated with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, and her daughter was unable to undertake the exam.

Mrs Fisher had tried to find a rapid test before the exam without luck.

A growing number of venues and schools in the region are being listed as exposure sites, and Mrs Fisher is concerned other students could encounter the same problem.

"James Merlino (Minister for Education) had put out an announcement that no students would miss out on their exams," she said.

"It was all delivered too late.

"The school apparently couldn't do anything to help us.

"She's pretty devastated."

The VCE has been interrupted over the past two years by periods of home learning.

"It's definitely been really hard for all of the kids to get through their work this year," Mrs Fisher said.

"It's been awful.

"I just think if they could bring in the rapid testing more quickly, then that could help allay any of these problems.

"This could potentially happen again."

Her daughter will receive a derived score, based on her work during the year.

The number of schools impacted by the Border outbreak of the virus continues to climb, with Murray High and Jindera Public yesterday announcing they wouldn't open today after positive cases.

Similar posts on the schools' Facebook pages disclosed the news.

All staff and students were asked to isolate until further notice.

"I would like to confirm with you that a member of our school community has tested positive for COVID-19," a NSW Department of Education spokesman said on Facebook.

"Our school will be non-operational effective immediately for the on-site attendance of students and staff to allow time for contact tracing and cleaning.

"All staff and students are asked to self-isolate until you receive further advice."

St John's Lutheran School and Little Saints Preschool at Jindera will re-open on Monday following a student's positive test result.

People linked to Xavier High School and Lavington East Public School have also returned positive results, as has a person linked to Little Ones Early Learning in Howlong.
