It was alleged Gray struck Chiltern player Nik Weber.
The incident occurred during the Blues' reserves round 8 clash with Chiltern at Eskdale on June 19.
Gray was represented by Con Madden.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Weber was represented by Kevin Mayhew.
No reports were laid during the match but the Swans asked the league to investigate the incident.
Gray was charged with unbecoming conduct after an investigation by league investigations officer Mark Deegan.
After a lengthy two hour hearing the tribunal chaired by Ron Montgomery deemed there was conflicting evidence and Gray was entitled to the benefit of the doubt.
Both sides called several witnesses.
Mitta United's defence centred around whether Weber was concussed in the incident.
It was revealed Weber returned to the field five minutes after the last-quarter incident after initially being taken from the ground.
Chiltern originally claimed that Weber spent two days in hospital after the incident.
But it was found that he didn't seek medical advice until the Tuesday and was cleared of concussion.
There was also conflicting evidence by both parties surrounding the force of the blow and whether it was a punch or a slap with an open hand.
