The Hoppers have won their opening three games, but were tied down by some slower bowlers on the first weekend.
"We had an emphasis last week on how we play spin, we probably weren't the best at it the first two games," wicketkeeper-bat Ben Fulford revealed after Saturday's win over Tallangatta.
St Patrick's captain Dean Nicholson was outstanding in round one, snaring 3-15 from four overs, while young leg-spinner Coby Fitzsimmons conceded only four runs from two overs.
"We were stuck in no man's land, there were way too many dots in there, myself included," Fulford explained.
"We went out there (against Tallangatta) and tried to be ultra aggressive against the spin.
"At Bunton, you are not going to get much turn, so you can tend to play spinners like medium pacers."
Chasing the Bushies' 5-110, Fulford (40 not out from 26 deliveries) and Ash Borella (33 from 21) quickly took the game away from the visitors as the Hoppers reeled in the target with five wickets and 29 balls to spare.
Interestingly, whereas Condon called on his team to attack more against spin, he's asked the dashing Borella to pull back.
Borella has been one of the association's most destructive bats for around a decade and can virtually decide the result in less than an hour.
"'Condo's' been doing a heap of work with Ash, he pretty much wants him going through the gears," Fulford suggested.
Condon is a former ACT captain and the players are raving about his knowledge.
"'Condo's' a wealth of information, he's got an old head on young shoulders, he's unbelievable," Fulford offered.
"He puts it back on us as players, more than anything."
As well as the attacking top order bats, North also boasts firepower with the ball in openers Jake Burge and Haydyn Roberts.
"Haydyn's a competitor, he just wants to get better every week," Fulford enthused.
"He's got a yard or two you don't really expect him to have, when he and 'Burgey' are on, it's the best bowling line-up in the comp, no doubt about it."
Burge snared 3-25 from his four overs against the Bushies, while Roberts was miserly with 2-16.
