Both associations decided to postpone their season openers due to the border's recent Covid outbreak, but have now decided to get the ball rolling for round one.
Players must be fully vaccinated to take part in the NSW-based competitions under current state rules.
"We had a survey with clubs earlier this week and the majority wanted to start," Hume Country Tennis Association president John Seidel said.
"There was certainly a lot of clubs ready to get the season going in some form."
Albury Tennis Association president Ken Wurtz said there has been a slight decline in numbers this season, despite Victorian-based teams now being able to join the competition.
"We've got 40 odd teams which isn't too bad considering, but it's under what we had last year," Wurtz said.

"There's a few less in the lower sections."
The Hume competition has remained steady.
"We've been pleasantly surprised by the number of teams that have been nominated," Seidel said.
"Surprisingly they've kept fairly well up to where they have been."
The North East Veterans Tennis Group also kicks of this weekend, with the first of 13 tournaments to be played at the Euroa Lawn Courts on Sunday.
Individual entries for players aged 30 and over are welcomed.
Registrations start from 9:30am, with play commencing at 10am.
