Emergency services were called to the Howlong-Balldale Road site, which is managed by Oreco, but Mr Nield died at the scene.
SafeWork NSW launched an investigation into the incident.

A spokesman confirmed the matter continued to be investigated, with no charges laid.
"SafeWork's investigation is ongoing and no further comment is available at this time," the spokesman said.
Mr Nield had worked at the site as a plant operator.
More than $20,000 was donated online to the late 28-year-old's family after his death.
