Di Wurtz, Joan Landy, Melissa Rhodes and Sandy Van Der Stadt combined to claim victory five sets 39 games to Spencer's one set 24 games.
It was a tight contest in the other section one hit out, with Sands narrowly overcoming former ladder leaders Bulle four sets 33 games to two sets 30 games.
Wendy Bourke was the standout for the victors after finishing the day undefeated.
In section two, Staughton's Trish Scammell, Caroline Staughton, Wendy Howard and Quirk's Sharon Slaven, Chris Jones, Sam Taggart and Angela Quirk competed intensely against each other in all matches, with the result too close to call.
They drew three sets and 27 games all.

In the other match, Sheil's Karen Mills, Janny Molesworth, Kate Horsfall and Carolyn Howard teamed up to win three tiebreaker sets to earn them a convincing win of five sets 33 games to one set 28 games over Semmler.
Section three action saw Brenda Huckstepp, Rosalie O'Keefe, Annie Connelly and Jan Dihood claim victory over McHarg five sets 34 games to one set 15 games.
O'Keefe, Dihood and Huckstepp each managed a six games to love score.
Beth Simpson, Michelle Forrest, Norelle Webb and Shah Jahnavi enjoyed a four sets to two win against Jones.
Simpson starred for her team on court to claim all three of her sets.
