"There's about 95 per cent of serotonin found in the lining of the gut, and serotonin brings feelings of happiness," Lloyd said.
"If 95 per cent of that neurotransmitter is found there, then that's saying something about what we're ingesting and eating and how that impacts our mental health state."
Lloyd suggests a well rounded diet with Omega 3, magnesium, zinc, B-vitamins and pre and probiotics, as well as L'theanine, which can be found in green tea.
