"He's handy with the bat and is obviously a very good wicketkeeper, so he will strengthen us."
The club has also signed former Walbundrie player Blake Lieschke.
"Blake can bat and he's a very good fielder, he's lightning, so he'll add more strength in the field," Simmons added.
Walla is home to Henty on Saturday.
"Shan Terlich's made back to back 100s, he loves the ball coming on and he's very aggressive, but he always gives you chances so we've just got to hold on to them," he suggested.
The classy Simmons is unavailable for the match.
