Matt Davis will coach the Albury-Wodonga Spitfires women on their return to the Capital League next year.
The team was withdrawn in 2020 but Davis, assisted by former Spitfires goalkeeper Ben Martin, is ready to tackle the Canberra-based competition once again.
"This will give the young players something to aspire to but it's not going to be easy," Davis said.
"It's going to be a young team so development is key for the next couple of years, making sure we keep improving and keep that pathway alive for the next generation.

"A lot of the girls who are going to be looking to get in the team, we've been working with for the last few years in the academy.
"I'm pretty keen to get to work with the young group next year."
Pre-season training starts at the Albury Hockey Centre on Thursday, with all Division 1 players welcome from 6pm.
