Margaret Court Cup founder Phil Shanahan is excited at the prospect of Albury hosting the 14 under Wimbledon Championships Australian Quailifier.
Albury will host junior tennis players who are Wimbledon-bound.
Tennis NSW confirmed around lunchtime today the Albury Tennis Association will stage the 14 under Australian Qualifying event for Wimbledon, from January 7-11.
It will be run in conjunction with the Border's traditional Margaret Court Cup.
The top 32 boys and top 32 girls entered into the MCC will be accepted into the qualifying event.
The winners will be flown overseas to contest the major tournament.
