A series of fine displays earned the Ovens and Murray's under-14 boys a bronze medal at the Canberra Cup.
Toby Gould was excellent and Isaiah Manuaifua proved hard to beat in goals.
"Coming third against all those metro teams, when our kids can only train for six months a year, is an amazing effort," O and M coach Shannon Gould said.
"They'll definitely take confidence from that moving forward and it's a good feather in their cap to be able to get a third place and realise they're just as talented as those guys."

There were also top-10 finishes for the O and M's under-17 boys, under-14 girls and under-17 girls Teal.
Back on the border, Albury Tigers men beat a depleted Northside 15-5 and Sharks edged out Pool Pirates 6-4.
There was a first win of the season for Northside/Wodonga women, 10-4 over Pool Pirates, while Sharks beat Albury Tigers 12-4.
