Saturday pennant was relocated to the club courts and Albury's Nick Vicary, Brendan Liddell and Ben Tari were equal with Wodonga Bulldogs after the first two sets of their section one clash.
Edging into a four-game lead after the fourth set, Albury finished winners by 42 games to 33 with Tari's strong singles win instrumental for the team.
In section two, Albury Gold's Cameron Scholz, Graeme Barned and father-and-son Peter and Jack Penny had a close encounter against Grant Sawyer, Matthew Graham, Shayne Mumberson and David Foster of St Patrick's Black, winning fours sets each and prevailing by 42 games to 40.
Scholz was in top form, winning all of his sets for Albury.
Forrest Hill Galahs remain top of the ladder after David Lake, brothers Ken and Graham Wurtz and Peter Simpson beat Albury Heart, four sets each and 51 games to 41.
Thurgoona Sharks' Jed Morrison, Paul Craane, Patrick Cartwright and Josh Bear were too strong for Wodonga Raiders, winning by seven sets to one.
Bear and Craane tussled against Sam Ebert and James Plested in a tie-break, eventually winning 8-7.
Mark Neil, Wilbur Cribbes, Steve Connell and Paul Tamburini dominated for Wodonga Bushrangers against Albury Bears, winning by seven sets to one.
They now sit third on the ladder and will face second-placed Albury Gold this weekend in the final round before the season takes a break over Christmas.

In section one of the ladies competition, Forrest Hill's Di Wurtz, Kara Curphey, Helen Curtis and Maxine Quinlivan and Wodonga Larrikins' Di Larkin, Sandra Rouvray, Sandra Allen and Rhonda Wilson were too strong for their opposition, Wodonga Diamonds and Thurgoona Jade respectively, both winning 5-1.
In a close set, Larkin and Rouvray prevailed against Linda Davis and Tricia Baldwin for Thurgoona, coming through to win 8-7.
Wodonga Diamonds' only set win was gained by Maree Cribbes and Susan Carlin, who took out a tie-breaker 8-7 against Wurtz and Quinlivan.
Wodonga Aces had an epic day in section two as Abbey Quinlan, Emma Duffy and Tessa Quinlon went head-to-head with Wangaratta's Lauren McInnes, Sophie Paton and Jessica McInnes.
Level at three sets apiece, the Aces edged it by 36 games to 33 despite a strong win in the singles for Paton.
Online entries are now open for the Wodonga championship tournament, which runs from January 12-16.
