The Murrumbidgee Local Health District has recorded seven new cases of coronavirus as the state numbers surge past 1000 for the first time in months.
A breakdown of the case numbers by local government area is not available, as the health district recently switched from daily to weekly updates with a focus on vaccination and testing numbers.
The numbers come as a raft of restrictions ease across the state, but NSW Health are still urging residents to be careful.
"With most COVID-19 restrictions eased today, we are urging everyone across the community to continue to practice COVID-Safe behaviours," the statement said.
"The Omicron variant continues to spread internationally and has been identified in arrivals to NSW. NSW also has local transmission of Omicron.
"We urge people to get their booster dose as soon as they are eligible, to best protect yourself, your loved ones and the community from the ongoing transmission of COVID-19."
Meanwhile, the state has recorded 1360 new cases of COVID-19 and one death as the Omicron variant continues to rapidly spread.
It is the first daily case number above 1000 in months, and currently there are 166 people are in hospital with the virus and 24 of those require intensive care.

In terms of vaccination, 94.8 per cent of people have had a dose of vaccine while 93.2 per cent are fully vaccinated.
For the 12-15 year old population, 81.4 per cent have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 77.8 per cent have had two dose
NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant and NSW Health Deputy Secretary Susan Pearce will provide an update at midday.
The community is encouraged to keep coming forward for COVID-19 testing and vaccination.
Vaccinations can be booked at more than 100 providers across the Riverina by using healthdirect.gov.au.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, sore throat, cough, headache, runny nose, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle aches or pains, and a change in taste or smell.
