►CANBERRA: The Turnbull government is considering new measures to encourage more migrants to settle in regional or remote areas to relieve pressure on house prices and infrastructure in Sydney and Melbourne.
With one month until budget day, Immigration Minister Peter Dutton says his department is working closely with the treasury and finance departments to assess the likely impact of a possible shift in the migration program. Read on

►LAUNCESTON: After the suspension of racing on Saturday Supercars fans have been treated to an enthralling battle at a rain-soaked Symmons Plains circuit. From early on Sunday morning consistent rain soaked the track.

►WAGGA: Buyers were prepared to pay top dollar for quality working dogs, with the number one dog going for $9000 in a Downside auction on Sunday.

► Asylum seekers on Manus Island who are suing the Turnbull government for false imprisonment will be able to watch the proceedings live from Papua New Guinea, following a landmark ruling by the Victorian Supreme Court.

►Police are asking people heading to the Sydney Royal Easter Show to avoid buying tickets through unofficial sellers following reports of "significant" credit card fraud.
Two men have been arrested after a suspected stolen credit card was allegedly used to buy $800 worth of coupons and vouchers for the event, police said on Sunday. Read on
