The Lakers won last year's rain-affected A-grade grand final against Beechworth as the highest-ranked team, with just 23.1 overs bowled before weather intervened.
This time they'll meet minor premiers City Colts at Norm Minns Oval on Saturday and Sunday, with rain on the radar again.
But Lakers' star batsman and former captain-coach Josh Lawrence is confident they'll get a game in.
More sports news:
"The shoe is on a different foot this year and we've got to win," Lawrence admitted.
"I think they've downgraded it tomorrow (Saturday) and we'll have to keep an eye on it on Sunday."
City Colts won the only meeting between the two sides back in round five by 53 runs.
It's been 32 years since Colts last won an A-grade premiership.
OAK FM 101.3 will broadcast the action following the tea break on Saturday and from 1pm on Sunday.
