Dean Andrew Brennick's claim that the knife was for fishing has also been shot down.
"A flick-knife is a prohibited weapon because they're dangerous," prosecutor Sergeant Erica Mulligan told Albury Local Court magistrate Rodney Brender.
"I wouldn't say that if it was in the first-aid kit it was for fishing."

Brennick, 48, was convicted in his absence on May 6 when he failed to front court on the charge of possess or use a prohibited weapon without a permit in North Albury on March 13.
This week he turned up, with Mr Brender placing him on an 18-month community corrections order and convicting and fining him $500.
MORE LOCAL NEWS:
Mr Brender said Brennick had "quite a lengthy criminal history" though this was his first time on a weapons charge.
He asked Brennick why he had a flick-knife in public.
"It wasn't in public your honour, it was in a first-aid kit in the boot of my car."
Well, Mr Brender responded, that meant it actually was in a public place.
