The impressive 17.15 (117) to 12.14 (86) victory not only secured the Bulldogs their fourth successive grand final appearance but also confirmed their raging flag favourite status.
With the Bulldogs close to full-strength, coach Brett Doswell made the tough call of omitting high-profile recruits Jesse Johnston and Matt Murray at selection on Thursday night.

The pair both played in the reserves upset win over Yackandandah and were named first and second best to remain in the mix for senior selection for the decider.
In contrast the Tigers were missing match-winner Tom Anson (shoulder) and midfielder Connor Wiffin (broken hand).
The Tigers promoted Matt McNamara who last played seniors in round seven.
McNamara was lively early with two goals and alongside Josh Spence, Brad Dalbosco and Jordan Palmer was instrumental in the Tigers taking a six point lead into the first break.
Josh Maher helped keep the Bulldogs in striking distance with three goals in the opening term.
Kade Brown, who was damaging all match with his penetrating kicking got the first goal of the second quarter to level the scores.
From that moment on it was all the Bulldogs who were able to bury the Tigers with a 12-goal-to-three avalanche to open up a commanding 47 point lead at the final change.
The Tigers added a bit of respectability to the scoreboard in the final term after booting five goals to two.
The classy Bulldogs had winners on every line.
Kane Westlow kept Tiger match-winner Peter Cook goalless.
While Kade Brown, Jamarl O'Sullivan, Jayden Kotzur, Sam Cross and Michael Rampal were also solid contributors.
Doswell was ecstatic to take the direct route into the decider and have the benefit on another week off to freshen-up.
"It was a dominant performance and we came to play today and were able to apply plenty of pressure to the opposition," Doswell said.
"I think Barnawartha still had a few sore bodies from its qualifying final victory and we were able to take advantage of that.
"The second quarter a few of our senior guys really lifted their workrate and we were able to capitalise and make the most of our chances.
"I thought O'Sullivan especially was outstanding."
